Bauchi Rice Mill Will Process 600 Metric Tons Per Day | The Guardian Nigeria News

The Managing Director (CEO) of Tiamin Rice Milling Company, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed, revealed that the company, when commissioned in the next two months, will produce 600 metric tons of rice per day.

Aminu made this known on Friday as he drove China’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Cui Jianchun, around the company’s factory, saying most of the machinery was purchased from China.

The CEO said the company was in mechanized farming and pointed out that when production fully took off, no less than 800 direct workers would be employed in addition to 2,000 casual workers.

According to him, the Tiamin Rice factory was built on 11 hectares of land, adding that the company had traded $15 million with China over the past three years.

He added that the rice mill, which has a 50-ton capacity dryer, was assembled by engineers six years ago, adding that it is the first of its kind in Nigeria.

While expressing hope that the Chinese ambassador will be present when the company puts the plant into operation in two months, the CEO said that all components were imported from China, except for the parboiling units , which had been acquired in India.

The CEO thanked the state governor, Bala Mohammed, for allocating enough land for the company to operate successfully in the state.

While responding, Chinese Ambassador Cui Jianchun assured his country’s willingness to invest in many sectors of the state economy.
