Chinese company’s mill is a security risk | News, Sports, Jobs

Andre Allis, Granville

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar (and nothing else) Sigmund Freud once said. The question facing North Dakotans in the Grand Forks area, and now the entire nation, is whether a corn mill will be just a corn mill and nothing more.

A local city council decision to approve a Chinese company (the Fufeng Group) has proposed a $700 million corn milling facility on more than 300 acres of prime farmland in ND, about 12 miles from Grand Forks Air Force Base, home to some of the most sophisticated and sensitive drones. existing technology, positioning the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) to engage in espionage against the US military, has erupted into a national debate.

Although North Dakota is one of six states with laws prohibiting foreign ownership of farmland, these restrictions on Chinese land ownership can be technically circumvented by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) buying up American corporations that own agricultural land through one of their agent companies.

That this is indeed a major national security risk is reflected in the bipartisan opposition to the U.S. Senate buyout by Democratic Chairman Mark Warner (VA) and Republican Committee Member of the Senate Intelligence, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida. With the current strong division between the two parties, it is rare that there is agreement on anything, so the fact that there is a bipartisan agreement in the co-sponsorship legislation that could block such an endeavor says a lot about the national security risk of this purchase by the Chinese company, the Fufeng Group.

Since some who want the factory, and the economic benefits associated with it, assure us that the Chinese government’s motives are benign, perhaps a cursory and very cursory examination of their background would be in order. China is controlled by the CCP. The Party came to power via the greatest mass murderer (including Stalin and Hitler) of the 20th century, Mao Zedong, who killed some 65-80 million of his fellow citizens, many of them (about 40 million), in systematic starvation intentional. They have been stealing our intellectual property for years and it is the Communist-controlled Party that, rather than warning other nations of the leak of the Covid virus as a result of gain-of-function research being carried out in their lab of Wuhan, attempted to cover it up, unleashing it on an unsuspecting world. China is currently the world’s leading executioner of its own citizens for alleged crimes against the Party and vicious in its religious persecution, detaining both Christians and Muslims in prisons and concentration camps.

Now anticipating the inevitable rebuttal to come, along with the worn and hackneyed accusation of (what else?) that you are a racist (!) (always shouted and shouted with moral superiority), I speak of the vicious communist GOVERNMENT and inhuman of China, not the people themselves. They have clearly shown that they cannot be trusted anywhere. Also, think about this question, would they allow us to operate an agricultural business about 15 miles from one of their strategic and sensitive military installations? Why then, would we/should we?

Grand Fork’s first mayor, Brandon Bochenski (right), and his city council are sacrificing this country’s military security for the immediate, short-sighted gain of jobs and tax revenue, while extolling the virtues of globalism, saying: “Are we going to be the first to fundamentally say no to globalism? How about saying no to foreign espionage, Mayor, and protecting your country from America’s arguably primary foreign adversary?
