Country View Family Farms Plans New Columbia, Pennsylvania Feed Mill


Country View Family Farms will establish a new feed mill in New Columbia, Pennsylvania. The approximately $47.3 million project is expected to create 51 jobs.

To support its hog production business, the company will build the facility on a more than 100-acre railroad site at 2142 Old Route 15 in Union County.

“We anticipate that the creation of this cutting-edge operation will facilitate and support the growth of many family farms and rural businesses by providing an exciting new market for agricultural products produced by local farmers,” said Eric Patton of Clemens Family. The company received a funding proposal from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for a $255,000 grant from Pennsylvania First and was encouraged to apply for the Manufacturing Tax Credit Program (MTC) of the department, as well as PennDOT’s Rail Freight Assistance Program (RFAP).

Based in Middletown, Pennsylvania, Country View Family Farms is a hog supply and production company, managing more than 100 family farms that raise hogs under contract. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Clemens Family Corporation in Hatfield, Montgomery County.
