IT department raids Congressman Sanjay Sharma’s sugar candy bungalow

The IT department raided several locations belonging to Tendukheda Congressman Sanjay Sharma, including his sugar mill, bungalow and several other locations. The former BJP MP is allegedly a liquor and sand baron in Madhya Pradesh.

The raids took place at several places belonging to Sharma in Jabalpur, including a bungalow in Hawabagh, where an IT team is currently present. The IT department is also raiding the sugar factory located on the Narsinghpur highway.

The raid operation is being led by the Jabalpur survey team and officers have also been called in from Indore, Bhopal and Gwalior.

The former BJP MP joined Congress in 2018

A Congress MP for Tendukheda, Sanjay Sharma moved from the BJP to Congress in 2018. He was an MP from 2013 to 2018 in the same constituency, representing the BJP. He is said to have major holdings in mining, alcoholic and hotel businesses and is considered one of the richest politicians in Madhya Pradesh.

The Congressman is said to have big businesses in the sand and alcohol sectors in Narsinghpur, Tendukheda, Jabalpur and Katni. The Jabalpur Mining Department recently awarded a major sand mining contract to Sharma, according to reports.
