On Thursday, the steel minister will dedicate the Jspl rebar factory to the nation

Union Steel Minister Ram Chandra Prasad Singh will dedicate JSPL’s rebar plant located at its steel plant in Odisha to the nation on Thursday. The 1.4 MTPA rebar plant is one of the largest rebar manufacturing units in the world, JSPL said in a statement Wednesday.

The Minister will also visit its 2 MTPA unit coal gasification plant, Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL), the statement added.

“Steel Minister Ram Chandra Prasad Singh will on Thursday dedicate to the nation one of the largest state-of-the-art rebar factories in the world with a capacity of 1.4 MTPA (million tonnes per annum),” he said. he declared.

The rebar fabrication facility is located at JSPL’s 6 MTPA plant in Angul, Odisha. The company uses coal gasification technology to produce steel at its Angul plant.

JSPL Chairman Naveen Jindal said, “We are privileged to have India’s largest TMT rebar plant dedicated to the nation. In line with our goal of producing sustainable steel and using swadeshi coal to produce steel, we commissioned India’s first CGP-based plant. DRI factory in Angul”.

JSPL is aligned with the government’s climate commitment at COP26 to become a carbon neutral nation by 2070, he added.

JSPL MD VR Sharma said, “We are pleased to announce that we can now produce 50mm TMT rebar, which is the first of its kind in the country. Our research and development team has successfully developed 50mm rebar and also obtained BIS approval for the same”.
